Monster drama actress Jo Bo Ah in hospital for encephalomeningitis
On August 31, Jo Bo Ah was admitted to the hospital. According to her agency, Sidhus HQ, “Jo Bo Ah was admitted to the hospital after filming for Monster on August 30. She will be receiving an in-depth check up today.”
Previously, it was reported that the actress was continuing to work after being diagnosed with the serious disease. Her agency issued a statement on August 30 about her condition.
“Jo Bo Ah was diagnosed with encephalomeningitis in the hospital today. While she does need additional check ups, because the drama is in a situation that requires the continuation of filming, she will be visiting the hospital again afterwards.”
Encephalomeningitis is described as an inflammation of the brain and meninges. Fans are wishing for her speedy and full recovery, with many also expressing concern that the production team had let her work while she was sick.
Jo Bo Ah has been filming the revenge drama Monster, a 50-episode saga which is heading toward its final conclusion soon. She plays the role of heiress Do Shin Young who is in love with Kang Ki Tang (Kang Ji Hwan) and often calls him Kang Ga Din. Her hilarious performance has brought praise for the 25-year-old actress.
