The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is partnering with filmmakers, Stephanie Wang-Breal and Corinne Manabat looking for dedicated NYC high school students to participate in this fall’s Youth Film Workshop, EXPLORATIONS!.
EXPLORATIONS! Youth Film Workshop is aimed at exploring the media and learning how to start making your own media and voicing your own stories. Each participant in the workshop will make his/her own digital video as well as work with others to produce short films on identity and family.
This weekly fall program will be facilitated by filmmakers, Stephanie Wang-Breal and Corinne Manabat, as well as guest speakers in the film industry and media educators. It will culminate with a public screening highlighting the work created in the workshop!
WHO CAN APPLY?
Youth ages 15 – 19 who are enrolled in an NYC high school; strong academic record; mature and responsible; self-motivated; willing to work in a team; an interest in Chinese American/Asian American history a plus.
Once a week on Thursdays from October 21 – December 16, 5-7pm.

Workshop fee is $300. Youth Film Workshop Scholarships are available. If you are in need of financial assistance, please check the corresponding statement on the application form.
