New below-freezing drink magically turns into slushy when opened
One beverage company in Japan might have come up with the perfect way to deal with the summer heat. Beginning in June at 7-Elevens in Japan, Asahi has announced that it will be offering "Freezing Cider."
The icy cold beverage will be available for 150 yen (roughly $1.47), and the beverage will be served so cold that as soon as you open it, it turns into a tasty slushy. Having a slushy in a plastic bottle is a brilliant idea in and of itself, and we hope that this fad catches on.
The freezing drink will have a cider taste, and sits in the cooler at roughly minus 5 degrees. Carbonation helps make the drink stay at the freezing temperatures, and we can't think of a better thing to enjoy on a sweltering summer day.
