[caption id="attachment_53709" align="aligncenter" width="457" caption="These Leading Ladies thought hard about their Mr. Perfect"][/caption] Who is Mr. Perfect? Your soul mate? Some one you can tell all your problems to? Is he somebody who's always there for you? Add any one or more of those qualities to rich and handsome in a kdrama and the answer is still none of the above! The correct answer is the moody, spoiled guy that has no regards for your feelings or personal safety the first few months he knows you. As a matter of fact, he's usually the source of all your problems. Isn't that how we like 'em, ladies? No? Maybe? Well thats how our leading kdrama ladies like 'em! Can we really blame them? The heart wants what it wants, but today, we shout out to the guys that are too good for their own good.

Boys Over Flowers

[caption id="attachment_53669" align="aligncenter" width="442" caption="Lee Min Ho (Gu Jun Pyo) and Kim Hyun Joong (Yoon Ji Hoo)"][/caption] Boys Over Flowers is probably one of the most notorious kdramas for a nice guy finishing last. Yoon Ji Hoo (played by Kim Hyun Joong) is not only the nicest guy in the F4, but he's also Geum Jan Di's (played by Goo Hye Sun) first love. He's a shoo-in for the spot of Jan Di's happily-ever-after since he helps her whenever she needs it for the entire show. But long story short, Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho) makes it a personal goal to make Jan Di's life hell and somewhere in the process she finds his sensitive side, the bad boy finds her intriguing, and they fall in love. What about Ji Hoo who realized his feelings as well? Nothing. This popular series was originally a manga so the original character of "Hanazawa Rui" actually got re-made and dumped in Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese. Comment to give the nice guy Ji Hoo some much needed love! Memorable Nice Guy Line: "I'll be your fireman. When the alarm in your heart rings, I'll come running." Ok, some lines are better said only in dramas. Still, it's extremely sweet.

Shining Inheritance

[caption id="attachment_53696" align="aligncenter" width="392" caption="Lee Seung Gi (Sun Woo Hwan) and Bae Soo Bin (Park Joon Sae)"][/caption] In the smash hit series, Shining InheritanceLee Seung Gi (My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox)  plays one of the most spoiled, inconsiderate jerks ever to hit a kdrama. He has no respect for his family and only cares about money until he clashes with Go Eun Sung (played by Han Hyo Joo) and is forced to live and work with her. Meanwhile while Eun Sung's life is being turned up-side down with the "death" of her father and disappearance of her autistic brother, Eun Woo, Park Joon Sae (played by Bae Soo Bin of 49 Days) is there to pick up the pieces and get her on track. He secretly helps pay for her apartment, puts up flyers for her missing brother and even recommends her to Jin Sung Foods where she gets her job. And of course, he's a genuinely nice person who's good-looking and rich. Although Eun Sung is aware of Joon Sae's feelings she can't help but develop feelings for Hwan who begins to change because of his feelings for her. Joon Sae, you deserve better! Am I right? Memorable Nice Guy Line: "I don't want to be your Oppa* anymore. I want to be your man." In reality, anything Joon Sae said or did was really sweet. This man, doesn't exist outside of dramas. *Oppa - an older brother or what a younger girl calls an older guy

You're Beautiful

Jang Geun Suk (Hwang Tae Kyung) and Jung Yong Hwa (Kang Shin Woo)
You're Beautiful is a funny, romantic tale of a nun-in-training (Park Shin Hye of Goong S) who impersonates her twin brother in a pop band while he's getting a bad plastic surgery job fixed in the States. It would be nice if it was all laughs but alas it's a kdrama, and it would be boring if everyone got along nicely, right? Jang Geun Suk (Beethoven Virus) and Jung Yong Hwa (Heartstrings) find out about Go Mi Nam's true identity early in the series but she's only aware that Tae Kyung knows and in turn sticks to him for constant help so she's not found out. Tae Kyung's initial goal is to get rid of the walking disaster zone, as he mistreats her and makes her his little slave. He makes everything harder for her and even pretends to throw away the ring her mother left her; resulting in her looking through water an entire night. However, Go Mi Nam starts to break down Tae Kyung's frown and they start to fall in love. Kang Shin Woo stays on the sidelines and secretly helps Go Mi Nam in any way he can while he starts to fall for her. There's an episode where she's in full girl attire walking around Myungdong for the first time. Shin Woo stays on the phone with her as he secretly buys her food and clothes in a romantic effort to reveal he knows she's a girl. When Mi Nam receives a call from Tae Kyung, she forgets all about Shin Woo and leaves. Poor guy can't catch a break. Memorable Nice Guy Line: "Don't cry. I won't watch you cry anymore because of Tae Kyung." Who wants to comfort this poor pop star?  Or do you prefer the stone-faced Tae Kyung with the secret heart of gold? Watch these nice guys finish last and more on DramaFever!
