misunderstood-kim-jong-un The propaganda arm of the North Korean government recently released this video on its website, Uriminzokkiri. The video depicts a North Korean man dreaming about being on board a space shuttle that was launched into orbit as "We Are the World" plays in the background and the video shows a number of countries, including a happy and reunified Korea. Then, you see the American flag and a city that resembles New York in flames, under nuclear attack. Here is a sample of the video's captions, translated by liveleak.com: "Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing," "It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself," "Despite all kinds of attempts by imperialists to isolate and crush us...never will anyone be able to stop the people marching toward a final victory," and a final assertion that the dream of the man in the video will "surely come true." The video is particularly resonant, as North Korea is poised on the brink of more nuclear testing. What do you think of this video? Does it worry you, or just seem like an 80's Cold War throwback?
