North Korea's new homemade operating system looks just like Apple's
It might not be long before Kim Jung-un starts dressing like Steve Jobs. North Korea recently unveiled its brand new homemade operating system, and it looks almost exactly like Apple's OS X. The new operating system is called Red Star Linux 3.0 and features a whole new desktop layout.
Red Star Linux 3.0 is an update from the former version of the operating system that resembled Windows 7. It was created almost ten years ago in the Korea Computer Center (KCC), and officials believe that the 3.0 version was released in the middle of 2013. Information regarding this new system was obtained by Will Scott, a teacher at Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST).

Even though the Internet remains banned for most North Koreans, some are able to access online information through the government-controlled intranet, which has various educational websites and pro-government materials.
