Grab a box of tissues and a bar of chocolate (to cheer you up afterwards), because this drama is going to be a tearjerker! Talented actress Lee Bo Young (I Hear Your Voice) stars in the touching melodrama about a childless teacher who decides to kidnap her young student to save her from her abusive mother in Call Me Mother.

Synopsis

Bird observer Soo JIn (Lee Bo Young) joins an elementary school as a substitute teacher. She's good at her job and generally kind, but she isn't exactly the motherly type, so she isn't particularly invested in the lives of her students. That is, until she meets someone special. Hye Na (Heo Yool) is a sweet girl and full of life, able to brighten her teachers' day. Soo Jin grows fond of Hye Na, but notices something strange about Hye Na's relationship with her guardian, Ja Young (Go Sung Hee of My Beautiful Bride). As Hye Na's absences start to pile up and strange bruises show up on her body, Soo Jin realizes that her student is a victim of abuse. In a desperate attempt to save Hye Na, Soo Jin kidnaps the girl to a safe location, making her a fugitive. Responsible for the safety of a young child, Soo Jin realizes that being a good mother will be the greatest challenge of her life. Also known as Mother, the drama is directed by Kim Cheol Kyu (My Beautiful Bride, Emergency Couple) and written by Jung Seo Kyoung (I’m a Cyborg, But That’s Okay). It is a remake of the 2010 Japanese series by the same name.
