A man who kept a snapping turtle as a pet in Fujian, China was apparently trying to set the animal free. But the turtle wasn't ready to leave without a goodbye kiss that sent the man to the hospital.

The undomesticated animal is an alligator snapping turtle, native to North America. One of the turtles had been found in 2010 in Weishan Lake (southern Anhui Province), where it is suspected that the animal had been kept as a pet and then released.

China has warned citizens against keeping wild animals as pets. If you need any more reason to stick to cats and dogs, the photo below (netizens are calling it a "passionate goodbye kiss") demonstrates the danger of messing with wild animals.
