Photographer shoots flowers frozen in ice to create majestic stills
A true innovator can use nature to create stunning works of art, and that's exactly what photographer Kenji Shibata has done in a new exhibit that features pictures of flowers locked in ice. The series is called "Locked in the Ether" and shows flowers caught in blocks of frozen ice.
The Osaka-based photographer shows flowers caught in blocks of ice and also captures them as they are thawing. The exhibit is an incredibly inventive way to show the natural progression of time.
The flowers caught in the ice look like they could be there forever but start to come alive again once the ice melts. The vibrant, powerful pieces are currently featured at the Tachibana Gallery until December 20.
