Pikachu just got some cosmetic surgery and we're not so sure if we love it
Pikachu is one of the most popular Pokémon in the world, so it somewhat makes sense to refer to this little monster as a celebrity. And as with many celebrities, Pikachu just recently decided to get some work done, and we've got the photos to show you what went down at the cosmetic clinic in Seoul where Pikachu went under the knife.
South Korea is called the cosmetic surgery capital of the world, and for good reason. Per capita, Korea has the most cosmetic surgeries in the world, with over a million performed every year in a country with a population of a little over 50 million. It's a 5 billion dollar industry, with advertisements for cosmetic surgeons gracing subway cars and reality shows on people whose looks dramatically change. So it makes perfect sense that Pikachu would pick Seoul to get better looking, where the cute-but-dissatisfied monster visited Apgujeong Seoul Plastic Surgery for some serious work.
Many fans may not want any part of Pikachu to change, but no one knows how another feels about their appearance, and the iconic character obviously doesn't like feeling like a monster. So what's a monster to do? After a consultation with Dr. Lee Min-gu, who eventually performed the procedure on Pikachu, the doctor and his celebrity patient decided on some face-sculpting, eye surgery, a new chin, botox, and a few other procedures. That seems like a lot, but remember, that's what Pikachu wanted. So it is what it is.
The entire day has been chronicled in photos, of which you can check out below. For those of you that dig the new look, congratulations. For those of you that don't, just remember . . . it's still Pikachu inside.
The big day.
Receptionists must have been in complete shock when they looked up.
"I don't like my moon face!"
A lot of work to be done.
