Many of us have planned a lunch or dinner at our favorite restaurant, only to walk up to closed shutters and a "Sorry, we're closed today" sign. Reasons are sometimes given, sometimes not. An eatery in Tokyo closes a lot at the owner's own discretion, but he always gives an explanation.

"Ajiyoshi: Daily Lunch Special Heaven". This popular local eatery in Tsukuba, Japan is not only popular for its affordable, delicious lunches, but also for its utter disregard for being open as scheduled. When the owner wants to close, he tweets his reasons. This would usually upset most people, but his reasons given for being closed turn disappointment into laughter. He's always honest and polite.

Here are some of his explanations:

"We will be closed today, as I am very hung over. Please come again."

"We will be closed today, as it is raining, and I just feel sad. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. I couldn't make up my mind about today's menu. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. I ate too much yakitori yesterday. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. I have a dentist appointment. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. I'm tired. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. It's too cold to leave my futon. Please come again."

"I apologize for closing early yesterday. I got bored and wanted to go home. Please come again."

"We will be closed today. I got into a big fight with my wife. Please come again."

The list goes on and on...
