A Chinese contestant appeared on Holland's Got Talent, and was thoroughly ridiculed for his ethnicity by the judges on air. Xiao Wang appeared as a contestant on the show, and when he said his name to the judges, he got a condescending "well, that's okay." When he tells the judges he's going to sing a Verdi opera, judge Gordon Heuckeroth responds, "which number are you singing, thirty-nine with rice?"

After the performance, Heuckeroth goes on to say that Xiao's singing is the "best Chinese I've had in weeks." The judges threw in more remarks, saying Xiao "looks like a scientist," or a "waiter from a Chinese restaurant," all in about four minutes, which might be a record for televised racism.
