South Korean singer-actor Rain
is an inspiring overachiever. He's already been named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2006, and he's topped the magazine's Top 100 online poll for several subsequent years. But that's not enough for Rain -- after making his Hollywood debut in "Ninja Assassain"
, producing his own boy band
, and challenging Stephen Colbert to a dance-off, Rain's asserting his importance once more by making TIME's Top 100 list
five years later in 2011. Rain arrived in New York City on April 25, 2011 for Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People party. He’s been updating fans through his twitter account @29rain.
The past few months have been an up and down time for Rain -- amidst rumors of a gambling debt, his 2010 drama RUNAWAY: PLAN B
did poorly in ratings, and once the drama wrapped up, he became embroiled in legal battles with the production company over unpaid wages.
Still, Rain’s managed to weather the storm. Before his imminent enlistment into the South Korean army, Rain’s been filming for the movie “The Red Muffler” alongside actress Shin Se Kyung
Congratulations to Rain on yet another milestone, and cheers to his staying power!
