After rumors began circulating that Running Man cast members Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo were dating, the show's producer and other cast members began to weigh in on whether or not they were true.

Ji Suk Jin bet all his money that they were not dating, however, while Producer Jung Chul Min clarified Ace Couple’s on-screen chemistry, he avoided choosing a side.

Running Man PD Jung Chul Min says Kim and Song’s on-screen romance isn’t scripted, and the production team members are taking their words and actions at face value.

“It’s true they’re often seen together at private events,” Jung told OSEN on Tuesday. “But the production team never asks them to create a loveline. We simply catch the sparks in the air.”

Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo’s dating rumors started last Christmas, which was not the first time they were rumored to be in a relationship.

PD Jung understands Song Ji Hyo might feel awkward about the loveline with Kim, given that she used to be a part of Monday Couple with Gary. He says, “I think people speculate about them because they’re so close. Some fans are bored of lovelines, but we can’t hide what‘s there. We never pretend things happen.”

When asked about his views, Jung said the staff members are taking everything as is. “What you see is what’s out there. The production team is wondering too, just like the cast members.
