Meet your new favorite boy group that does not sing or dance, Sanrio Danshi! Sanrio Danshi (or “Sanrio Boys”) is a new group of characters made up of five high school-aged students who simply love Sanrio. Each boy has his own favorite character. Do you love Hello Kitty or Cinnamoroll? Oh, both? Good luck trying to choose a bias in this group then!

Let’s meet each member one by one.

Kota Hasegawa

Favorite character: Pom Pom Purin

Contrary to his favorite characters origins (Pom Pom Purin is inspired by pudding), his favorite food is yakisoba.

Yuu Mizuno

Favorite character: My Melody

My Melody has a pink hood, and Yuu, being the fan boy he is, wears pink hair clips and a belt that has pink on it.

Ryo Nishimiya

Favorite character: Kiki & Lala (Little Twin Stars)

This character's angelic looks match with the twins, and so do his shoelaces: Blue for Kiki and pink for Lala.

Seiichiro Minamoto

Favorite character: Cinnamoroll

Cinnamoroll is attractive to him because it is fluffy.

Shunsuke Yoshino

Favorite character: Hello Kitty

He respects Hello Kitty so much that he refers to the character as “Kitty-san”…No “Kitty-chan” for this guy!

In November, the groups’ joint Twitter account opened up, allowing fans to be updated on their daily shenanigans.

Shunsuke posting a photo of Seiichiro with a Cinnamoroll on his bag handle.

Seiichiro rakes in the background while Yuu has a handful of sweet potatoes.

Ryo having coffee with his “senpai,” Seiichiro.

Yuu posting a picture of Kota hugging Pom Pom Purin.

Ryo showing off his Little Twin Stars socks.

Obligatory food posts!

My Melody receiving Mizuno’s fan mail.

Straps of Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pom Pom Purin, and Cinnamoroll on Yuu’s head…These are characters promoting characters after all!

Which boy is your favorite?
