5 Photos that prove Chinese model Dong Lei has a pair of the longest legs in the industry
Twenty-one-year-old Chinese model Dong Lei doesn't have the longest legs in the world. But at a length of 45 inches — the average height of a 7-year-old child, they say —her legs certainly do belong on the list of the longest in the modeling industry.
Standing at just under 6 feet tall in a country where the average female height is 5 foot 2 inches (1.57 meters), Lei boasts legs that are 1.15 meters tall. While studying to become a preschool teacher, she was constantly advised to go into modeling. So what was a girl to do? Take the advice, of course.
A hopeful Lei entered a modeling contest, was signed by a major agency, and quickly found herself an Internet sensation as well as in high demand in the Chinese modeling world. Needless to say, she's never looked back.
You would think that with her legs taking up 60% of her height, this girl from the city of Wuhu (in Central China's Anhui Province) would look odd. But, no. Her lengthy gams and impressive figure are perfectly proportioned, well toned, and runway-ready.
As the model with the longest legs in China, Dong Lei belongs to quite an elite group! Rookie lawyer Anastasia Strashevskaya boasts the longest legs in Russia at 42 inches, from heel to hip. Student and model Alexandra Robertson of the U.K. and model Brooke Banker of Brooklyn, New York both clock in at 47 inches. Volleyball player and model Lauren Williams of Houston, Texas weighs in at 49 inches.
The woman who wears the Championship Belt, however, is Guinness World Record holder Svetlana Pankratova of Russia, who lives and coaches basketball in the state of Virginia, USA and has legs nearly 52 inches long.
Yep, Lei's 45 inches fit right in there. She's got legs for days.
