Shirtless Korean firefighters raise funds for charity with hot calendar
It's the season for giving, and the warmhearted firefighters from Seoul have released their 2016 Firefighter Calendar to raise funds to help low-income burn victims. The calendar features 14 firemen who participated in the 4th Momjjang Firefighter Contest. (Momjjang refers to "hot body.") Are you ready for some sizzling samples?
The firefighters even contributed their time by having their photos taken on a national holiday. They are truly gallant knights who took off their firefighting helmet and armor for a good cause. One of the firefighters, Jang In Duk, said, “I felt terrible hearing so many sad stories about people who have been injured in fires and given up treatment due to financial difficulties."
Needless to say, the calendar is a guaranteed hit.
Last year when the calendar was first published, An extra run of 1,500 copies had to be rushed in addition to the original 1,000 copies.
(Here are a few photos from the 2015 calendar, just in case you were wondering:)
This year, 10,000 copies were printed. Photographer Oh Joong Seok and design specialty company Ace Group contributed their talents for the calendar.
Each calendar costs 10,000 won, or about $8.60. Online purchase is available through the the GS Shop, an online shopping mall, or at the Seoul Gwanghwamun Plaza.
All proceeds will be delivered to the Hallym Burn Foundation.
