tvN1 tvn2 SNL Korea is being criticized for cowardice, by failing to mock a major news story about the chairmen of CJ Group, of which tvN (the producer of SNL) is a subsidiary. CJ Group (the conglomerate that used to be part of Samsung, comprising various businesses including food and entertainment) is currently in trouble because of its chairman Lee Jay Hyun’s alleged international slush fund. Suspiciously, ever since CJ Group chairman was accused of his corruption, the political parody sections of SNL Korea have been significantly decreasing. Even though the SNL Korea has the news parody segment Weekend Update, some are complaining that, for whatever reason, the segment isn't covering this corruption news. Others are complaining that SNL Korea’s now only full of sexual jokes. More suspiciously, another political debate show on tvN was recently cancelled for an unknown reason.
