Song Joong Ki and other top Hallyu stars are now hangers in China
Recently a new kind of Hallyu craze is sweeping though China! A Chinese online retailer (Taobao) is selling hangers featuring the busts of various Hallyu superstars (also including some Chinese stars) on which you can now hang your clothes! However, whether you think these hangers are the future of closet organization or just plane weird...public opinion might be the least of the companies worries.
While these superstar hangers (showcasing everything from the top of the head up to the bare shoulders and clavicles of famous Korean actors/stars) are all the rage in China right now, their popularity might just prove to be a problem for the company selling them. The hangers, being sold for approximately $6 online, feature not only Song Joong Ki but also many other famous top Korean celebrities including BIGBANG, EXO, Kim Soo Hyun, and Lee Jong Suk just to name a few. Regardless of the popularity and lucrative nature of these hangers, however, there seems to be one major problem: neither permission nor license was given to use the images of these stars!
Currently, Song Joong Ki's agency, Blossom Entertainment, is looking into the retailer and trying to decided what measures to take against them in the coming weeks.
Once clothes are put on the hanger the result makes it looks as if that star is wearing those clothes themselves, however there also has been some complaints from customers who believe that the head is not proportionate to the rest of the body.
What do you think about these hangers? Would you buy one and if so, who would you pick? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
