Akihabara is the home of the newest electronics, otaku and cosplayers. I guess it's because electronics and otaku (an extreme anime subculture) pretty much go hand in hand. So it figures that Akihabara is now home to the world's creepiest cafe. Not unless, of course, you're an otaku who loves the manga Sweet Poolside.

Cosplay bar and cafe, Meteor Shower is opening a very limited, four days only Sweet Poolside Cafe on June 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th in the Akihabara district of Tokyo. The opening of this cafe is in conjunction with the upcoming summer live action version of Sweet Poolside, opening on June 14th. The setting of the film is a high school, with the story centered around a high school swim team. A no brainer to win an Oscar for best foreign film...

So at the Sweet Poolside Cafe, girls will be wearing the exact same swimsuits worn in the movie. Well, not the exact same ones, but same kind. They even have a special menu for these special four days. The "School Water Onigiri" (rice ball), delicious sounding, I know, comes with the added excitement of having your waitress (who is in a high school bathing suit) actually make the onigiri with her bare hands right in front of you. Don't want onigiri? How about some pasta? It's called "Goumo Pasta" or "Bristle Pasta." So yeah, whatever part of the body your pasta ingredients are supposed to come from, bon appetit! Not hungry? A "Sweet Pool Juice" is only 1200 yen (12 dollars). And if you have an extra 1000 yen (10 dollars), you can even take a photo with one of the waitresses!
