Every so often, the internet will expose and introduce us to an exceptionally talented person from somewhere around the world, whether through a Facebook post, a blog, or maybe a YouTube video. And just last night, I learned about a 17-year-old drummer from Japan, who already is being billed as one of the best drummers in the world.

Senri Kawaguchi started playing drums at the age of five. That was about when I started playing the trumpet, but in my case, I was still playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" when I was 18. Senri has been posting videos of herself for a while now, but now it's not just folks in Japan who are taking notice. Tommy Morello from Rage Against the Machine just recently tweeted about her, calling her "One of the best drummers I've ever heard." That's quite the compliment, especially for a 17 year old.

There's no doubt Senri is going to be an amazing professional drummer. Well, she's actually already amazing, and she's also already a professional. She very possibly may become one of the best drummers in the world someday. She's probably playing right now.
