Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are a match made in heaven according to the Descendants of the Sun screenwriter Kim Eun Sook! Kim also discussed K-drama trends at a drama talk show hosted by Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.

When an audience member asked if the soon-to-be-married Song Song couple fell in love after saying their sweet lines to each other, the screenwriter jokingly said, “I think you should ask that to Song Hye Kyo!”

Kim Eun Sook added, “I’m not sure, but Song Hye Kyo has said, ‘Yoo Shi Jin changed Song Joong Ki.’

“Song Joong Ki was such a cool guy. I think (Descendants of the Sun) made him sweet, which made him a perfect guy [for Song Hye Gyo].

“The two are so cute together. They love each other to death. They’re such love birds. I genuinely congratulate them.”

The prolific screenwriter also shared the challenges of casting top notch actors. Apparently, Gong Yoo had turned down starring in her dramas multiple times.

"Gong Yoo rejected working with me so many times. But I never gave up, and we got to film Goblin together. When I watched him on screen, I was so proud of myself. He was that good," Kim reminisced.

Kim says the periodicals are in at the moment. That’s why Goblin premiered this year though she had written it five to six years ago.

Kim Eun Sook is considered one of the most talented K-drama screenwriters. Yet she doesn’t cease to improve. She has studied all seasons of Game of Thrones. Also, she loved watching Stranger (Secret Forest). Stranger is a well-made show from all angles, according to the screenwriter. “I wonder how the writers came up with these brilliant ideas, what they researched how.”

In related news, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo left for L.A. Sunday night.
