These incredible rainbow-colored mountains are somehow actually real
If you took one look at these multi-colored mountains, you would immediately think that they were from some magical fairytale world, but we promise that they are absolutely real.
Located in the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in China, the rainbow-colored mountains were formed by minerals and sandstone mixing together roughly 24 million years ago. Tectonic plates then engulfed the minerals and multi-colored sandstone creating one of the truly magnificent natural wonders of the world.
To be fair, in some of the photos, the colors are a little more pronounced than they actually are in real life. Regardless, it is truly incredible that the colors in these mountains occurred naturally, and I want to go there right now to see them firsthand.
