This giant bug discovered in China is the stuff of nightmares
I bet if you close your eyes and picture the biggest bug you can realistically imagine, it would be about half the size of the one they just found in China. And I should also warn you that pictures of this insect might make you never want to be outdoors.
During a recent expedition to Sichuan, China, a massive bug with the wingspan of 21 centimeters (roughly eight inches) was discovered. The terrifying creature is thought to be in the order of insects called Megaloptera and their typical wingspans are usually four times smaller than that of the giant bug in China.
If that doesn't keep you up at night, then consider the photo below that shows the bug next to an egg, just so you get an idea of its staggeringly gross size.
