A highway running through Tsutsuki, Japan, has captured the nation's attention as a landmark of cuteness for being designed to look just like Totoro, the title character from the animated classic My Neighbor Totoro. At night, the precise placement of streetlights following the curve of hills creates a very familiar outline:

The charming resemblance was apparently intentional, with city planners intending to conjure up the shape of an animal with ears. At least that's the official explanation, since anyone with a little imagination can spot the Totoro of Tsutsuki!
