To say that Japanese trains run like clockwork is more than an understatement. A recent Discovery Channel video showed that Japanese train conductors are so concerned with being punctual that they keep time down to the centisecond. One segment of the video shows two train conductors who must reach the next station at exactly one minute and forty five seconds.

Not only are commuters able to reach their targeted time, conductors are also so familiar with their route, they don't even use a speedometer to gauge how fast they were going. The video shows how each conductor is thoroughly trained in a train simulator that is exactly like the subway cars in real life. Check out these fascinating insights into the incredibly proficient Japanese train system.
