When it comes to dramas that feature ghosts and creepy creatures, my first inclination is to run away. However, some of these dramas are so uniquely wonderful that they simply compel you to watch. Even if you cover your face, you still want to find out what happens by peeking through your fingers, because these supernatural shows are actually enjoyable beyond giving you a good scare.

1. The Master's Sun - Yes, there are a lot of scary ghosts here because they purposely seek out our scared female lead. Ultimately you are drawn to this drama because of the enthralling love story. The leading couple is essentially from two different worlds: he is a business tycoon, and she is the ghost-seeing woman who is considered crazy by other people. When people ask why Asian dramas tug at your heartstrings, just point to this one as a superb example.

2. Goblin: The Lonely and Great God - Just mention Gong Yoo, the Korean star of international fame (Train to Busan, Coffee Prince), and you'll want to jump aboard to enter into this chilling world inhabited by not just an enigmatic Goblin, but also a handsome Grim Reaper. Despite their powers, the two supernatural beings are lonely beyond words. Find out how they find solace in the mystical world where true love overcomes fear and fate.

3. Arang and the Magistrate - It's the man's turn to see ghosts in this unusual blend of the supernatural genre and crime investigation.

A magistrate runs into Arang, a lady ghost who wants to find out what led to her passing from the human world. You might say all eyes were on Lee Joon Ki, the charismatic Korean leading man in his first drama after military service, while his character has the seeing eye to see supernatural beings. Don't be scared, just keep your eyes on the leading couple. The heavenly kingdom and the netherworld are also a visual treat.

4. Gu Family Book - A man discovers that he is actually half human and has inherited supernatural powers from his father, a mystical forest creature who transformed into human shape. He searches for a centuries-old book that is supposed to contain the secret of becoming full human, while he has to learn to control his own powers when he falls in love with a young woman. This drama fuses mythical legends and memorable romance with a historical background. It also has a surprise ending.

5. Oh My Ghostess - Our female lead is scared of her own shadow because she can see ghosts everywhere. One day, a virgin ghost accidentally enters her body and stays there. What happens next is both hilarious and poignant, as the two women cohabit in one body and fall in love with the same man, a handsome chef, while they also learn that a serial killer lives next to them. Let me just assure you now that it has a happy ending!

Who Are You - Ghosts, amnesia, crime investigation, two handsome leading men, ... What doesn't this drama have?

A woman who is also a detective wakes up from a six-year coma to find that she can now see ghosts. As she teams up with another detective to find the culprits, she is torn between her dead boyfriend, a ghost now, and her attraction for the new partner. For the fans, we have a special place in our heart for the man with the most adorable cheekbones, Kim Jae Wook, who is also a most handsome ghost.

BTW, Kim Jae Wook is very much alive in the romantic hit Temperature of Love
