TRENDING: Japanese watch sales skyrocket after naming coincidence
The Daiso Blue Planet watch is a trendy accessory that young Japanese women are buying like crazy, and it's not because it's only 108 yen ($0.92 USD). The watches have been flying off the shelf ever since last November, and the reason is the Japanese band the J Soul Brothers From Exile Tribe.
And it's not because the group members wear the watches on stage or in their hugely popular music videos. But it is because last November, the group announced that their 2015 tour would be called the "Blue Planet Tour."
The name has been an incredibly lucky coincidence for the Daiso watch company, who have said that there was no real reason why they initially decided to call the watches Blue Planet. And they definitely didn't know that they would see such a sales jump once the J Soul Brothers announced their tour.
