True love: Chinese couple celebrates marriage by recreating wedding photos on exact date of 70th anniversary
Whether or not it ever worked out, if you've ever been in love, you can count yourself as one of the lucky ones. There are many who go through life without ever knowing what it feels like to be intimate with that special someone. But one couple from China is the luckiest of the lucky, having been together an astounding 70 years. And to celebrate their anniversary, they recreated the photos they took on their wedding day when they were both just 28 years old.
Cao Yuehua and Wang Deyi are both 98 years young. During World War ll, both of them fled Shanghai and moved to Chongqing, where they enlisted to fight against the invading Japanese. When Cao was sent off to Burma, he would send his bride love letters whenever he had the chance. Apparently, one of Cao's letters was so romantic that it won a contest 50 years later, where it was crowned the "most romantic letter of all time." When Cao came back safe and sound, he married Wang right away, and the two lovebirds have been living happily ever after.
Caro and Wang, who are now somewhat of local celebrities, have always done things to celebrate their love. They took photos at Chongqing Northern Hot Springs Park, the exact location they got married, for their 60th wedding anniversary as well. After a recent ceremony for their 70th wedding anniversary, Deng was seen holding her husband's hand and saying, "Let's come back and take pictures when we both turn 100, okay?"
It's safe to say that Cao and Wang have probably never needed any relationship advice.
