USB Onigiri Warmer heats rice balls on the go
Though unsubstantiated, rumors exist of the negative effects on human health regarding microwave use. So how is a health-conscious Japanese salaryman on his way home from a long day's work supposed to heat up his Seven-Eleven salmon rice ball? With the new USB rice ball warmer of course!
Called the "USB Attaka Onigiri Warmer Brown," this heating gadget is a product of Thanko, manufacturer of "helpful life gadgets." Priced at 1280 yen, about a little over 10 dollars, this gadget will heat up your rice ball and make it as warm as if the rice just came out of the rice cooker. Convenience store onigiri (rice balls) are indeed delicious, but they aren't exactly warm, which is where this little gadget comes in handy.
Coming in three sizes, whatever rice balls you get are sure to fit perfectly. The heater installed inside the warmer will get to a maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius(140 Fahrenheit), so your rice ball can be as hot as you want. All you have to do is connect the USB to your computer and watch Youtube or check your emails, and you've got yourself some rice balls that taste like they were just made. But make sure you're not starving. Unlike a microwave, these warmers take 30 minutes to do the job.
All you have to do is wait 30 minutes!
Fits all onigiri sizes!
If you're hungry, 30 minutes is an awfully long time, knowing there's a rice ball in there
Patience is a virtue
