VIDEO: Amazing Jordanian A Cappella Cover of Super Junior's "Mr. Simple"
Korean comedian Won Ho Chung (you might have seen him in Axis of Evil) collaborated with Alaa Wardi, a Jordanian musician, to do a K Pop a cappella cover, or KPoppella as they call it. The song they picked was Super Junior's "Mr. Simple." This amazing a cappella cover has Won Ho Chung as the vocals and the talented Alaa Wardi providing all the sounds needed for this busy electro-synthetic dance track.
Won Ho Chung, who was born in Saudi Arabia and grew up in Jordan, can speak five languages including Arabic and Korean. My favorite part of the video is when he starts rapping in Arabic because he's not sure what is being said in the Korean rap:
After listening to it repeatedly, I can't get it out of my head. It almost seems hard to distinguish the original from the "KPoppella" cover. Alaa Wardi's beatboxing skills make it impossible to identify that the sounds are coming from a person. And Won Ho Chung's surprising singing and rapping skills make this quite an amazing cover.
Here is the Jordanian cover:Here is the original: Sometimes covers can be better than the original songs, and I can't decide which one I love more! Which one is your favorite? Tell us in the comments below!
