WATCH: Best picture nominees at the 2016 Oscars recreated in cute little LEGO montage
The world watched last night as Hollywood held the 88th Academy Awards, where Spotlight took away Best Picture in a field that also included The Revenant, The Martian, Brooklyn, Mad Max: Fury Road, Bridge of Spies, The Big Short, and Room. Just in case you haven't seen any of the nominated films, or even if you've seen them all, here they are for you as a special montage — in LEGO.
Many big stories were the focus of last night's Oscars, broadcast in over 225 countries around the world, but as always, the main event is all about the top prize, which is the Academy Award given to the year's best picture. This year, Tom McCarthy's Spotlight, a powerful film depicting the true story of the Boston Globe uncovering the shameful and shocking Catholic Archdiocese child molestation scandal in Boston, was selected as the best film of 2016.
The seven other films that were nominated for Best Picture were all special in their own right, and if you haven't seen them, today happens to be your lucky day. Thanks to the folks at ToscanoBricks, a a YouTube channel that creates movies with LEGO, you can watch all eight nominated films in an awesome brick montage. For LEGO fans, these are probably better than the actual films!
So ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, welcome to the LEGO Best Picture Nominee Montage of 2016.
