Voice 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular crime mystery thriller Voice, is off to a fantastic start in South Korea. Take a look at its record-breaking premiere viewership, which should delight stars Lee Ha Na and Lee Jin Wook.

The original drama, Voice, opened to 2.3 percent of South Korean viewership for its first episode. The series would continue to gain popularity, and it ultimately broke 5 percent at its peak and averaged more than 4.3 percent nationwide, according to AGB Nielsen.Media Research.

How did Voice 2 do by comparison?

Its first episode, broadcast on July 11 in South Korea, recorded 3.9 percent on average, and the second episode, broadcast the next day, did even better at almost 4.7 percent, as reported .

In the new season, actress Lee Ha Na reprises her role as Kang Kwon Joo, the talented voice profiler who started a special operation at the emergency call center to stop crimes in progress. Her new investigation partner, Do Kang Woo (Lee Jin Wook), turns out to be a genius at tapping into the mind of a criminal. The two form a formidable team to take on the most dangerous criminals, but Detective Do has his own secret mission.
