WATCH: A Japanese bullet train tops 300 miles an hour
When it comes to the implementation of efficient and luxurious trains, Japan is light years ahead of most nations. And with the advent of a new train that goes as fast as 310 mph, it looks like the country is also going to be first in speed.
The 310 mph train was tested by passengers this week in Japan, and the results were definitely positive. The test train ride is part of a much larger route that will connect Tokyo's Shinagawa Station and Nagoya by 2027.
In the past, that train ride would take 80 minutes, but now with the increased locomotive speed, the journey will take a shockingly quick 40 minutes. The high-speed Japanese train is already twice as fast as any train in the United States, and roughly 30 miles per hour faster than the quickest train in China.
