Last week, the popular hologram singer Hatsune Miku performed on an episode of the Late Show with David Letterman. The Japanese pop star has become an international celebrity this year since Lady Gaga announced that the virtual performer would be the opening act for a portion of her tour.

Hatsune Miku performed the popular song "Sharing the World" on Letterman and was accompanied by a full band. The performance was a massive hit as the clip already has over 1.2 million hits on YouTube.

My favorite part of the clip is when Letterman tries to interact and wave at the virtual singer before she disappeares into a cloud of digital dust. After Hatsune Miku vanished, the legendary talk show host said with a chuckle, "It's like being on Willie Nelson's bus."
