The romantic drama, Ode to Joy (欢乐颂), is now available on DramaFever! It is the smash hit that has led to the popular sequel Ode to Joy 2. Season 1 of the drama traces how five women from different backgrounds become friends and how, with the help of one another, they will face modern challenges in life and love. The drama stars Liu Tao (Nirvana in Fire), as well as Wang Zi Wen and Wang Kai from When a Snail Falls in Love.

The series is about five millennial women whose lives in Shanghai intersect unexpectedly on the 22nd floor of an apartment building called "Ode to Joy." Circumstances, and perhaps fate, intervene and allow these women with different personalities, professions, and disparate backgrounds to become friends who will help one another solve problems, learn from mistakes, and find the strength to fulfill dreams.

Andy (Liu Tao) is a well-educated financial whiz who is the new top executive at a Shanghai investment firm. She returns from the United States, where she grew up as an adoptee, to search for her long-lost brother. It takes a special kind of man who has enough self confidence to approach her. Fan Sheng Mei (Jiang Xin) is a mid-level professional who has worked in Shanghai for many years. She aspires to find a husband who can provide financial security while her own savings are depleted by her parents and good-for-nothing brother. She is only able to afford living in the high-rise apartment by sharing it with two young women, Qiu Ying Ying (Yang Zi) and Guan Ju Er (Qiao Xin), whose younger age and less social experience mean that they have their own separate set of challenges. Qu Xiao Xiao (Wang Zi Wen) is a rich girl with a fierce personality. She is street smart and is competing with her stepbrother to inherit her feather's wealth. In the meantime, she is attracted to the handsome but seemingly unapproachable Dr. Zhao Qi Ping (Wang Kai).

Joining the leading cast of characters are: Qi Dian (Zhu Feng), Tan Zong Ming (Jin Dong), Wang Bai Chuan (Zhang Lu), Ying Qin (Wu Haochen), Yao Bin (Zhang Xiaqian), Shi Yun Peng (Guo Xiaoran), Xiao Ming (Shi Yunpeng), and Bao Yi Fan (Yang Shuo).

Ode to Joy is the wildly popular modern romantic drama based on a novel of the same title by Ah Nai. Directed by Kong Sheng (Nirvana in Fire), the series became the most popular contemporary drama in China. Ode to Joy’s original broadcast period was from April 18, 2016 to May 10, 2016, with the second season Ode to Joy 2 broadcasting from May 11, 2017 to June 10, 2017.
