url Categorize this under weird or random or awesome or maybe just throw it in all three, because few could say they were expecting this from Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.  Since Weezer's bassist Mikey Welsh died in 2011, the band has been mostly MIA (though they've recently promised a new album is in the works). Lead singer Rivers Cuomo took this time off to team up with musician Scott Murphy and record a little J-pop. The single, titled "Homely Girl," was released on iTunes on Monday.
