WEIRD: Hello Kitty is not a cat
Hello Kitty, the beloved cat who's captured the hearts of millions around the world, is not actually a cat! This information was uncovered quite accidentally when Christine R. Yano, an "anthropologist and Hello Kitty scholar," had finished gathering various Hello Kitty pieces for a special upcoming exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. After contacting Sanrio, the company behind the non-kitty for approval, she was informed that Hello Kitty is not a cat...Hello Kitty is a LITTLE GIRL!
Mental collapse yet? It get's better! So according to Sanrio, Hello Kitty is actually a little British girl named Kitty White who lives "outside of London," has a pet cat named Charmmy Kitty, absolutely "adores apple pie," and is a Scorpio. She also has a twin sister! Sanrio went on to point out that "...she's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature, and she is a friend."
