Where are they now: Heirs celebrates 2-year anniversary
Ever since romance drama Heirs, starring Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye, was released to great fanfare on October 9, 2013, it has become the most popular series ever on DramaFever. It continues to stay on our Weekly Top 10 list week after week. To celebrate the two-year anniversary of Heirs, here's an update for you about 10 cast members.
1. Kim Tan - Lee Min Ho
The Hallyu superstar has continued his stratospheric rise in popularity and international presence. Aside from winning acting and popularity awards, he has managed a busy schedule during the past 2 years that included holding many concerts for his RE:Minho concert tour, meeting fans in different countries, completing the movie Gangnam Blues, and currently filming a new action thriller movie Bounty Hunters. Most recently he became the face of Korean tourism and got appointed as Honorary Ambassador for the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in Korea. He has also started a charity platform called Promiz.
On the personal side, after admitting the end of a secret love affair and wishing for a fateful love, Lee Min Ho was forced to confirm his budding dating relationship with singer-actress Suzy after their secret rendezvous was spotted by Korean paparazzi in March this year. Although we'll see him next in Italian chocolatier Ferrero Rocher's romantic ads, fans really want him to return to TV drama. The fear is that he will go off to military service next year without a new drama to keep us company.
2. Cha Eun Sang - Park Shin Hye
Park was already a rising young actress with popular dramas such as You're Beautiful and Flower Boy Next Door. With the success from Heirs, she has become even more in demand for brand endorsements and acting projects. She won acting and Best Couple (with Lee Min Ho) awards for Heirs.
She has since starred in the movies The Royal Tailor and The Beauty Inside. Her recent hit drama Pinocchio with Lee Jong Suk also gave rise to dating speculation due to their strong chemistry on and off the screen.
3. Choi Young Do - Kim Woo Bin
The model-actor with distinctive eyebrows threatened to shine over Lee Min Ho and gave us a strong dose of Second Lead Syndrome in Heirs. Kim's breakout performance propelled him into star status. He has since starred in 3 films: Friend 2, The Technicians, and Twenty.
Kim broke up with model Yoo Ji Ahn in early 2014 after dating 2 years. He and actress Shin Min Ah confirmed that they are dating in July this year and recently did a couple photoshoot. Interestingly, Kim has been cast in an untitled romantic comedy with Suzy.
Watch Heirs costars Kim Woo Bin and Kang Ha Neul in Twenty for a chance to win a trip to Korea with DramaFever's Power of Three contest!
4. Rachel - Kim Ji Won
She was the spoiled and willful chaebol heiress who was engaged to Kim Tan.
Although she didn't get her guy in Heirs, the beautiful model-actress won New Star Award for her performance, and she also found a great hunk in So Ji Sub in the romantic One Sunny Day. She is currently filming new drama series Descendants of the Sun with Song Hye Gyo and Song Joong Ki.
5. Kim Won - Choi Jin Hyuk
Our hearts broke when he won the corporate empire but lost his love. However, Choi Jin Hyuk saw his star continue its rise ever since his breakout performance in Gu Family Book. After Heirs, he starred in two movies and the very popular dramas Emergency Couple, Fated to Love You, and Pride and Prejudice.
He is now in military service. Needless to say, we can't wait for him to return to dramaland.
6. Yoon Chan Young - Kang Min Hyuk
He won New Star Award for his performance in Heirs, and also Best Couple award with Krystal Jung at the 2013 DramaFever Awards.
The multi-talented drummer-singer and actor has stayed busy as a member of CNBLUE, releasing popular new albums and going on tour. Here's their latest hit, "Cinderella":
7. Lee Bo Na - Krystal Jung
After Heirs, she became Rain's leading lady in My Lovable Girl, for which she won Best Popular Actress at the 2015 Baeksang Arts Awards. Aside from continuing with her singing career, Krystal will next co-star with EXO's Lay in the movie Kite Flying, slated for 2016 release.
8. Lee Hyo Shin - Kang Ha Neul
He has taken on a variety of roles to hone his acting chops. After Heirs, he co-starred in 5 movies, including Twenty on DramaFever. He also starred in the dramas Angel Eyes, Misaeng, Punch (cameo) and Missing Noir M.
He said during an interview that he stays away from dating actresses because it's difficult. His next project is the movie Happy Facebook.
9 Jo Myung Soo - Park Hyung Sik
The idol singer from ZE:A continues to see his acting star shine, and he's turned into a leading man.
After Heirs, he starred in What Happened to My Family? and won Best New Actor and Best Couple awards. He also played D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers musical. Most recently, he gave a hilarious performance in High Society as a wealthy heir who couldn't resist but fall in love with an unusual girl.
Here comes a bonus:
10. Park Hee Nam (Eun Sang's mother) - Kim Mi Kyung
We love Eun Sang's caring mother in Heirs, but we are also impressed with her no-nonsense ahjumma role in Healer, or the woman who had a complex relationship with her husband and her daughter in It's Okay, That's Love.
Kim Mi Kyung has had an illustrious career playing very diverse character roles. She has been in great demand before and after Heirs. She is probably the one actor who we don't really need to wonder where she is because she is everywhere where there is a strong female character. She recently completed the role as a take-charge nurse in Yong Pal.
Happy 2-Year Anniversary to Heirs and to all the cast and production members. And happy viewing to all the fans.
