With stuffed animals like these, who needs real pets?
I always thought that the best stuffed animals were ones that sort of looked like real animals, but not so much that you might be frightened if you saw one lounging on your bed. But don't tell that to sculptor Lee Cross who has created a series of shockingly realistic plush animals that look so authentic, one quick glance at them and you'll be convinced they are alive.
In order to craft such immaculate stuffed animals, Cross has a very meticulous process. First, he builds a basic skeleton of the animals, and then he adds stuffing and wraps them in cloth.
He then adds a super realistic touch by layering each animal with synthetic fur and paint. I'm truly amazed at the animals' lifelike expressions, and it's almost as if each one is really responding to you.
