After another strong year for Korean cinema, two actors were selected as the winners of the prestigious best actor and actress awards for 2016, given out annually by the Korea Film Reporters Association since 2010. Can you guess which actor and actress were honored as having the best dramatic performances for all of last year?

It's that time of the year again, when the most influential journalists covering Korean film get together to vote on who they think gave the most outstanding performances in cinema throughout the past year. On Monday, Song Kang Ho and Son Ye Jin were announced as the best of the best, Song recognized for his starring role in the action film The Age of Shadows, while Son won for her portrayal of Princess Deokhye in the historical drama The Last Princess. With so many films loaded with powerful performances, winning the best actor awards handed out by Korea Film Reporters Association is quite the honor. Selected by 58 reporters in all, awards are given out to films and to those who have achieved excellence in Korean cinema. This year, at the ceremony to take place on Wednesday, the thriller Wailing will take home best film, with best director going to the man who directed it, Na Hong Jin.

For Song Kang Ho and Son Ye Jin, being honored for their craft is nothing new. Both of them have been nominated, and won, countless times at domestic awards ceremonies. Winning best actor and actress again this year, as voted by Korea's top film reviewers, is a sign of even more awards and honors in the coming future for two of Korea's best.
