Biography

Laura Novoa was born on January 8th, 1972, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a teenager she began her studies at the Instituto Vocacional de Arte where she grew as a performer under Sara Quiroga, Augustine Alezzo and Augusto Fernandes’ tutelage. At the same time she began working in television on the shows Hombres de ley and De fulanas y menganas. Her subsequent performance in Socorro 5to año not only earned her fame, but also earned her a nomination for a Martín Fierro award to best acting revelation in 1990. Since then, Laura Novoa alternated stage work, with her participation in Calderón for which she won the Premio Ace for best acting revelation.

After living in Europe for some of 1995, she returned to Argentina to star in Poliladron, a show that changed Argentina’s way of making television. After three successful seasons, Laura became more centered around the film medium, starring in Juan Bautista Stagnaro’s La furia, Santiago Carlos Oves’ Asesinato a distancia, and Fernando Solanas’ La nube.
