Biography

Isabel Ordaz was born in Madrid, Spain on January 1st, 1957. Since she was young, she always was attracted to theater and acting, taking classes with actors José Luis Gómez and John Strasberg. In 1982, she debuted in the short film Eres mi Gula and then partook in other short films like Salida de Misa de Doce del Pilar in 1982 and El Vividor II in 1983. Later on she participated in movies like El año de las luces, and Los mundos de Yupi which made her well-known for her performance as Berta.

In 1998, Isabel Ordaz landed the role of protagonist for the movie Todos los hombres sois iguales. That same year she won the award Goya for Best Actress for her performance in Chevrolet as Lucía. Besides movies she also has participated in theater plays like Algún Amor que no Mate, La Dama Boba, El Caso de la Mujer Asesinadita, Cuando era Pequeña, and Luces de Bohemia to name a few. Isabel Ordaz also wrote poems.
