Rumor has it that Lee Young Ae will make her comeback in another historical drama. With Jewel in the Palace 2 fizzling out (no thanks to her backing out of the project), it seems like anticipation is high for another historical focusing on one more great lady of Korea: the woman on the 50,000 KRW bill.

Okay, that woman has a name: Shin Saimdang.

Lee Young Ae was recently approached with this drama for the lead role of Shin Saimdang, a well-known calligraphist, artist, and poet in the 1500s. She's also notable in being the mother of Confucian scholar Yulgok and is considered the model Confucian mother: a good wife and wise mother who was also well-educated in the classics. Much like she did with Dae Jang Geum, Lee would be helping in reinventing and reintroducing this historical figure for the modern audience.

See Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo reunited on the screen in the scandalous melodrama Temptation

The drama doesn't have a broadcasting home yet, but production has been planned for the fall for a release date sometime in 2015. Would you check out this new historical drama if she joins the cast? Or would you pretty much be like me and sigh, not believing that she'll ever actually take on a drama role again?
