Have you ever experienced comments that are racist or ignorant but didn't know what to say to counter? This video from Buzzfeed has been trending, and it shows several young Asian Americans talk about personal experiences and what their responses are. It is particularly notable because May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the U.S. Take a look!

Actually, many of the negative encounters they experienced are similar to bullying. It's good to see people stand up and respond positively. Humor is another great tool that can be used against bullying. If you've ever experienced racist or bullying incidents, what did you do and what would you do given what you know now?

I'd like to also note that May is "Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month" in the United States of America. It was officially designated by Congress in 1992 to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of Americans of Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry to the rich heritage and cultural fabric of the U.S.

The theme for 2015 is "Many Cultures, One Voice: Promote Equality and Inclusion." Read more about it HERE.
