Biography

Qi Yu Wu is a Chinese actor based in Singapore. Born in Guangzhou, Gunagdong of China, he became a model while in school and was noticed when he won Star Search Singapore in 1999. After being signed by Singapore's Mediacorp, he made his acting debut in a supporting role in the Singaporean drama series, Master Swordsman Lu Xiaofeng (2000).

After a series of supporting and co-starring roles, he gain popularity with the idol-drama series, The Champion (2004). He was first nominated as Best Acor at the Star Awards for the drama series, Room In My Heart (2004), and again for C.I. D. (2006).

He rose to stellar fame in the highly-rated blockbuster, The Little Nyonya (2008) and was nominated Best Actor at the Star Awards again. In all, he would be nominated five times for Best Actor at the Star Wards and won in 2011 for the drama series, The Family Court (2010). He has also taken on film projects with representative work in The Home Song Stores (2007) for which he was nominated Best Actor at the Australia Film Institute Awards.

Qi has risen to be a top-tier actor primarily in Singaporean dramas and films, and continues to be voted among the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artists for many years. He has co-starred in several Chinese-made films such as Painted Skin (2008) and 14 Blades (2010).
