The first few episodes I found myself ever so slightly annoyed with the main female lead. Mostly because I wanted to understand more how she went from her childhood self to an over exaggerating "not most-esq" person. You could clearly see she was smart, and talented, not to mention really quite pretty. However, with that said the character evolves beautifully; she becomes lovable, goofy, smart, and you just want to route for her. The male lead in the beginning seems vain and rough but about around episode 3 you see his soft and lovable side that brings back his chubby childlike self and you begin to really understand and adore him. that all being said the true star was Choi Si Won, he was cute, lovable, sweet, yet manly and thoughtful. He fell for the female lead because of her true self and I really enjoyed his character. The ending was really cute and was tied up in a nice little bow.
Not a bad drama at all, fairly entertaining to watch, It felt very rushed the last few episodes and that unfortunately hurt character development. The acting was not bad however, it was the grandmothers acting that held it together. All in all another two episodes and some more polish to the story line would have made this from a so so drama to a good one. (however, that one mother in law... I know the evil mother in law is a thing and trust me in many dramas it makes you want to scream, but this mother in law was just god awful and shallow... It infuriated me beyond words)
It was cute, in all honesty i really did enjoy the korean version more. There was just more of a love triangle feel between the three main characters and it made it more fun to route for both guys. This was well done and stayed true to the over all feel of "You're beautiful" but had its own charm. If you haven't seen the classic k-drama this is based on i highly suggest it, as you won't regret it.
