This drama started good. I was hopeful that she would go to the man who supported her and gave her courage when she needed it. Not the one that put her down and belittled her in front of others. I finally dropped this drama because I got to the point where I disliked the two main leads in this drama---never thought I would feel that way about my favorite actor/actress. The male lead was just an absolute jerk and doesn't know the first thing about what it means to be a true friend and Na Ri was just stupid to me.
This drama was interesting, but it was lacking for me. MooHyul was just too forgiving and gullible where DoJin was concerned. A lot of kings back then were ruthless and would kill their perceived enemies without giving it a second thought. MooHyul's father in this drama couldn't protect his family in my opinion. I also didn't care for the doomed, drawn out love story. All the actors were truly great and the story was interesting, but it begin to lo lose it's appeal towards the end--too much fighting.
I love historical dramas. This one was good, but it wasn't a Dong Yi, Yi San or Jewel of the Palace. The King was just to unbelievable in how he kept forgiving those that tried to kill him--mainly due to the fact that he love princess/queen Yeohwa which I truly did not understand after episode 9. If you look at her actions in "protecting" Yeogu compared to Hongran, I think you'll understand what I mean. It was interesting to watch.
