What a shame. This initially great series is deteriorating into a farce. Like some others have said below, I've also been staying current with the episodes at other sites and have gradually become very disappointed and disillusioned with the deterioration in the acting skills, the storyline, and the now really silly dialogue. It's a shame. This series started out and stayed great when Deokman was young and, later, a vassal/hwarang-in-training. After about episode 20 or so (the episodes after her sister dies and Deokman puts on princess garb), each episode has kept getting more and more tiring to watch. It's almost like the cast became as weary as the storyline. Somehow, the production quality and plot of this series has gone off the rails.
The lead actor and actress were both extremely good, and carried this drama series to its conclusion. The storyline was interesting, especially the first half, but I found it very hard to accept all the improbable twists and turns in the plot during the second half of the series. If you can suspend belief and imagine them as possible, then be prepared to cry a river during this drama. I rate it as 3-and-a-half stars.
Just finished watching the final episode. This was a really good story, and avery well-produced series. I strongly recommend it. Initially, I thought it started slow and that the time period was just too long ago and too obscure to be interesting. Wow, was I ever wrong. This series really grew on me as it moved along. All the characters and their relationships are portrayed wonderfully (although Daseo, the king of Buryeo was a bit hard to take). Watch this series -- you'll love it.
