Biography

María Valverde Rodríguez is a Spanish actress borh in Carabanchel, Madrid on March 24, 1987. At the age of 16 she acted in The Weakness of the Bolshevik, a Spanish film directed by Manuel Martín Cuenca based on the novel by Lorenzo Silva. She won the 2003 Goya Award for Best New Actress for her performance on this film.

She has also taken part in several films including one based on the polemic book "One Hundred Strokes of the Brush Before Bed" by Melissa Panarello. Maria also co-starred with Eva Green in the 2009 independent film "British Drama Cracks", produced by Ridley Scott and directed by his daughter, Jordan Scott. In 2013, she played the lead role in the drama "Broken Horses", co-starring with Anton Yelchin. Most recently, she acted in the film "400 Boys", which is due to release in mid-2013.
